They have created the skit in the months leading up to competitions. In one, students present a skit that presents a creative solution to the particular Odyssey of the Mind challenge that students have chosen to focus on. “It’s a great opportunity to express yourself,” said Bri Thompson, who is also on the Hanes team.Ĭompetitions have two parts. “It’s creative,” said Sirena Lovato, another member of the Hanes team. “It’s fun,” said Emma Ambrosius, a member of the Hanes team. Although it requires a substantial investment of time for students, parents and staff members, it’s worth it, participants say. Parents volunteering their time as coaches work with students after school and on weekends.
